LocalPrice: Community Grocery Ledger
LocalPrice is a community-driven ledger for grocery prices, enabling users to photograph receipts and track product costs over time, starting in Saipan.

problem
Paper receipts are ephemeral, making it difficult for consumers to track grocery prices and identify cost-effective shopping options over time. There is a need for a persistent, community-sourced record of local product costs.
process
Built with Next.js App Router, Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Storage), and Gemini for server-side receipt extraction. Users photograph receipts, and the server extracts line items. Contributors confirm uncertain fields before publishing prices to an append-only market board. The live web application is wrapped in Capacitor for Android. Domain logic is implemented in TypeScript.
